Come see us at Heritage Jubilee — Saturday, October 3, 1–4 p.m.
If you’ve been curious about the West Des Moines Historical Society, Heritage Jubilee is a wonderful chance to experience Jordan House, explore the gardens, and meet the people who bring this place to life. Polk County Master Gardeners will offer four demonstrations inspired by the plants and practices of the past: Civil War walnut dye: See how walnuts can produce a rich natural dye. Botanical watercolor pigments: Explore color made from plants. Herbal apothecary: Discover how herbs were used in the household. Seed saving: Learn how to collect and preserve seeds for future gardens.
This is a free event and is open to the public.
